See how The Bighorn Trash HitchTM is manufactured
We are proud to say that all our products are made in the U.S.A. and we were extremely happy to find Gifford Spring Co. in Garland, TX to assist in the manufacturing process of the Bighorn Trash Hitch™. It is amazing how technology has improved over the years!
Description
There are many people who are not physically able to do the weekly task of walking and pulling a sometimes heavy wheeled trash receptacle or waste can down a long driveway to its pickup destination, and climate changes can hinder or add to the hardship!
The Bighorn Trash Hitch™ is a unique apparatus designed specifically to take away or remove the physical stress and labor of this task. It’s simple to use, fits most standard waste company wheeled trash cans, and can be easily hooked up to any motorized vehicle ball and receiver hitch to transport a refuse cart with wheels and pull it to the designated location.
The Bighorn Trash Hitch™ will fit most vehicle hitch balls, including 1 7/8” , 2”, and 2 5/16”, and although it is made of 3/8” round steel it is light enough for any person to handle. It also has no moveable parts to wear out, and should provide years of reliable use.
With its companion, The Bighorn Trash Hitch™ Piggyback (sold separately), up to 3 trash cans can be towed at one time, making the weekly task so much easier!
How To Use
The Bighorn Trash Hitch™ is designed with 2 small hooks or “horns” on one end that are placed over the hitch ball so they are facing downward. Then, lift up and flip the Bighorn Trash Hitch™ over so the small “horns” are facing upward to secure it to the hitch ball. It will stay in place, and is meant to swivel in the event there are turns or curves in the driveway.
At the other end of the Bighorn Trash Hitch™ are two larger metal “horn like” shaped hooks that slip through the handle of the trash receptacle. Simply tilt the trash receptacle, place the large “horns” through the handle to connect and you’re ready to roll! The large “horns” not only connect the trash receptacle but they are designed to hold the refuse cart lid in place so that it will not come open during transport.
Warning: The vehicle towing the trash receptacle should never be driven faster than the speed which a person who pulls the trash cart/receptacle by hand would go if doing a fast walk. The wheels on these trash receptacles are not designed for fast speeds.
